The warm weather has finally arrived and Downtown Melbourne is the place to be! Come on down to Brevard’s longest running Friday night event, Melbourne Friday Fest. This month Melbourne Main Street will be welcoming back The Jazz Cats along with our resident DJs J.A.M. Masters.

Scribblers of Brevard Writers Gathering

Scribblers of Brevard is a writers’ club based in Melbourne, Florida, a place where writers can go to read their works and gain encouragement, inspiration and advice from fellow writers. We strive to provide helpful critiques and improve our craft through the sharing of information and experiences. Our members include novices and published authors alike and welcomes anyone who has an interest in writing. We meet every second and fourth Saturday (except for November and December) at the Eau Gallie Public Library on Pineapple Ave. We gather at 9:30 for coffee and socializing and our meeting begins at 10:00 and usually runs until 11:45.

The Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street (EGAD!) will host Orlando’s The Daily City Food Truck Bazaar on the third Fridays for the rest of 2015.Expect 10 trucks including BBQ, Lobster, Mexican, Asian and more. The Food Truck Bazaar is the original food truck party started in 2011 by Mark Baratelli.The best parking will be on Pineapple Avenue in the large lot located in front of Pineapple House.

FrogWatch USA Training Session

Become a FrogWatch USA Program Volunteer as a family! If you can hear frogs and toads calling at home you can monitor your own backyard! FrogWatch trainees will learn how to identify local frog and toad species by their calls as well as learn about amphibian biology and conservation. Help FrogWatch USA protect frogs and toads from your own home!All training materials provided, but paper and pencil may be useful to take notes. Light snacks and refreshment provided also. Sloth Skedaddle 3k

Zip through the Zoo during our tenth annual 3k race organized by the Running Zone Foundation! Participate in one of two races: the ZOOM (for runners who can finish in under 20 minutes) at 7 am or the LESS ZOOM at 7:35 am. A free “kiddie run” follows. Register online and pick up your packet ahead of time at Running Zone or register from 6-6:45 at the Zoo entrance on the day of the race.
All runners will be entered in a drawing for two one-day passes to Walt Disney World and a one-night hotel stay. Participants receive 50% off Zoo admission on the day of the race (race number required).

4th Annual Super Bowl of Trivia

The Women’s Center North Guild is proud to announce the 4th Annual Super Bowl of Trivia.The Super Bowl of Trivia is a themed fun and competitive Trivia Challenge. This year’s atmosphere theme is Valentines! The challenge consists of 8 rounds of 10 trivia questions on variety of topics. Dress is casual. Bring your team of eight or request we add you to a team of brainiacs. Teams will compete for the coveted “Trivia Trophy” and of course bragging rights. Prizes will be awarded to the top three placing teams. There will be food, a grand prize chance drawing and multiple silent auction items available for bidding. A fun night of fast thinking and rubbin’ heads as teams compete to be grand champions. Tickets are $50 per person and event sponsorships are available at multiple levels. Grant Seafood Festival

Free admission, free parking, over 100 crafters exhibiting, live continuous entertainment, along with a scrumptious menu of succulent seafood makes this a weekend no one wants to miss.What sets this seafood festival apart from others is that it runs through a 100% volunteer effort! All preparation, whether it be on the grounds or with the purchasing, cooking or serving of the various menu items is accomplished by volunteers of the community. We do not have any food vendors on site. All booths are run with volunteers: many booths are made up of family members, often times having several generations working along side one another. It is this complete volunteer effort that makes our festival unique. The total commitment of our community and all our volunteers makes the Grant Seafood Festival a time honored tradition unlike any other. We are proud of our community and our festival is a testament to that fact.
