January 18-20, 2014 – Raptor Rendevous at Brevard Zoo
Brevard Zoo will host a three-day special exhibit featuring impressive birds of prey Jan. 18 through 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The exhibit, called The Raptor Project, will feature 15 to 20 raptors from all over the world. Guests also will have a chance to see a few take flight and learn about these amazing birds from master falconer and wildlife rehabilitator Jonathan Wood. Wood will host two shows each day at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. inside the Nyami Nyami River Lodge. The exhibit is free with Zoo admission.
January 22-27, 2014: Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival
The Brevard Nature Alliance is proud to assemble a prestigious group of nationally and internationally recognized naturalists, biologists, ornithologists, photographers, scientists, writers, historians and artists for the 17th Annual Festival. The Festival focuses on the abundance and diversity of the natural world around us – from the Atlantic Ocean westward to the St. Johns River and surrounding wetlands.
January 23rd/24th, 2014: Atlas 5-TDRS scheduled to launch
Launch scheduled from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 9:05 – 9:45 pm. Ths Atlas 5 rocket will be lanced by the United Launch Alliance and will carry the TDRS L communications and data relay satelite for NASA. The satelite will connect mission control with the International Space Station and other orbiting satelites.
